"...there’s a throw your head back gleefulness to the Milburn vocal..”- marlbank Jazz

Alice Milburn is a UK-based Composer, Multi-Instrumentalist and Jazz Singer known for her soulful voice and improvisational flair. Hailing from the South Coast of England, she has built a strong presence in the south’s jazz scene as a standout vocalist.

Receiving critical acclaim, ‘First Expressions’ is her debut album, showcasing a dynamic collection of original songs and reimagined standards. An experienced performer who made her musical debut aged 13 at The Royal Albert Hall, Alice has spent the past decade honing her craft. Whether it be working with The National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO), selling out Ronnie Scott’s, touring the UK with Tommy Blaize (Strictly Come Dancing) or travelling the world performing onboard luxury yachts and cruise liners, her debut album has been shaped by her life’s journey so far.

Created in collaboration with Composer/Musician/Producer Jody Smith (Van Morrison/Nigel Price/Carl Orr), Jody’s industry experience helped to mould this project from conception to mixing. Mastered by Seán Mac Erlaine (Louis Stewart/Jim Hall/BillyHiggins), and recorded at Quay West Studios, Gosport, UK, in June 2025, this album was brought to life by young, emerging musicians; Saul Hughes on Piano, Josh Thorn on Drums, and George Balmont on Double Bass. Award winning Welsh Trombonist Lloyd Pearce also performed and served as musical director on the record.
